FAQs

Here are the answers to some of our most common questions.

What’s happening in the market right now?

This is probably the number one question we hear from both clients and candidates. Chances are the answer changes as frequently as the number of times we are asked this question. We encourage you to call us to discuss what we’re seeing in the market, and how you can best take advantage of current trends. Whether you’re a hiring manager curious about how to strategically plan for upcoming needs, or you’re someone who wants to hear about the hottest technology, we will be happy to spend some time to share our market insight.

Why should I use you or any agency at all?

Although market trends are something that change constantly, one factor that has been fairly constant over the years is that great candidates are hard to find. Our tenure in the market gives us a deep reach to passive job seekers who you may not find anyplace else. Additionally, it takes a significant amount of time to recruit, qualify and interview candidates…and there is an opportunity cost for every activity. If you’d rather spend your time doing what you’re good at, outsourcing or supplementing your recruiting effort is a great option, one that allows you to focus on your business and puts the responsibility on us to deliver as promised.

If you are a job seeker, active or passive, one huge benefit to working with an agency is insight into target companies. We can often determine if a company has what you’re looking for in a new position. We will help prepare you for your interviews and provide valuable information about the company culture where you’re interviewing. We should also make it clear that all our services are free to job seekers. Take advantage of our experience and tenure to help in your next career move.

What makes you different from your competitors?

We believe the largest differentiator is based on our key relationships and proven experience in the industry. Our combined experience in the markets we serve is something that no other staffing organization has. Sure, there are similarities across agencies and much of what is done in our business is common to many. However, our personalized approach and flexible service sets us apart. We are not tied down with large overhead or publicly directed corporate objectives. We want to know what our clients’ and candidates’ needs are, and we will do our best to meet them. We are committed to maintaining open and honest relationships with everyone we meet. We believe that is a refreshing and different approach, and one that will allow us to continue to build long-lasting relationships.

Who is going to see my resume? What are you going to do with my resume?

Here’s a straight-forward answer to a common question: no one will see your resume unless you give us your permission to present it to a specific client or company. What we will do is read and understand your resume. We may offer advice on how you can better present yourself and your work experience. While we do not believe a resume is the best measure of anyone, it does need to provide a concise and accurate summary of your background. Feel free to contact us about how we can help you with your resume or other aspects of your job search.

Why do you want my references?

Simply put, we require your references to fulfill our obligation to our clients. Verifying the work history represented on candidates’ resumes through direct contact with past employers is something we take quite seriously. One way to look at references is as a positive selling tool. If you think about it, there really is no one better to support your job search than a past supervisor. We can help you discuss how to approach past employers so they will be your biggest champions. After we’ve contacted a couple of these folks, we are also better able to proactively market you to your next company. If you have any concerns about this part of our process, we are more than happy to discuss them with you.

Why should I work with you?

We look for candidates and clients with whom we can build open, honest, close and trusting relationships. The only way to find out if that potential exists is to start a dialogue with us. Most importantly, we need to understand what you’re looking for and see if that fits into what we can do to help you get it.

Who pays for your service?

We’re a contingency-based and consulting services search firm, so all our fees are paid for directly by clients who have engaged us. As a client, whether you’re looking for direct hire employees, contract-to-hire candidates or strictly project-based consultants, we’re confident we can meet your needs at a fair price. As a candidate, rest assured that you’ll be taken care of fairly and honestly at no charge to you.
